AEV and its manufacturing partner, Bonluck Business Bus, recently completed two days of efficiency testing of AEV's left-hand-drive prototype electric shuttle at the Bonluck facility. The shuttle is slated for production during the second quarter of 2011. With its larger battery pack (100 kWh) the production shuttle will have a longer range than the prototype, which has a 72kWh pack. |

2010-12-03 AEV Tests its Second Generation Controller Palmer Lake, Colorado Today AEV drove its test vehicle (an electric passenger van) powered by our proprietary second generation HS300 IPM motor and an RMS PM100DX controller. The vehicle’s performance was very smooth and quiet. A small amount of cogging was noticed during low speed startup, but much less than a multi-speed clutched gas or diesel vehicle would experience. Dr. Dan Rivers, AEV’s CEO, stated that AEV is currently developing its third generation drive train to power the production shuttle. That drive train will exhibit higher startup torque to give the shuttle both excellent acceleration and gradeability of 25% or more at GVWR. |
